Ross Leslie
Comedian. Host. Founder of Good Egg Comedy.
Ross Leslie has been turning up the laughs across Scotland since 2012. As the driving force behind Good Egg Comedy, he doesn’t just put shows together — he’s often the steady hand guiding the night, whether he’s warming up the crowd or in full comic flight.
A Bit More About Him:
-
Long-game comic — Ross has been in the stand-up world for over a decade. He’s built his reputation on solid, honest storytelling, sharp observations, and a warm stage presence.
-
Host & Compere Extraordinaire — He’s known for keeping things on track but effortlessly funny, with a style that blends humility and confidence. Audiences love how he pokes fun (at himself, at situations, at everything) without ever being mean.
-
Something Real — Ross’s material is deeply personal, often drawing on family, everyday life, and his own experiences. He’s got a knack for making the familiar feel fresh and the small moments feel big.
Recognition & Achievements:
• Finalist in Scottish Comedian of the Year multiple times (2014, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021)
• Winner of Fck You I’m Funny* back in 2012
• Featured in BBC Scotland shows, both performing and writing.
What Drives Him:
Ross believes comedy should be inclusive, honest, and responsive. He founded Good Egg Comedy not just to host great comedy nights, but to build a community: for comedians, venues, and audiences alike. Respect, fairness, and authenticity aren’t just words for him — they’re how he runs things.
When you see Ross on stage, you’ll see someone who doesn’t hide behind bravado — he thinks, he laughs, he reflects, and he brings people in rather than putting them on the outside.
Press Quotes:
Ross Leslie is doing his Fringe show on hard mode. In the front row are his mum, his wife and his aunt which means he has to litter his set with disclaimers and footnotes for context. Family in first class and a reviewer wanting a complimentary bag of peanuts. Luckily, Leslie is so good in the moment that his scripted show becomes a living thing and he feeds off the bonus energy greedily.
There is rich stuff here (a killer line about packed lunches) and a lot of searingly honest heart. Obviously, having immediate family in the room adds a frisson but it was inclusive rather than awkward. Leslie's background is fascinating enough to warrant a full hour. He should be tough as nails, but he wears it lightly, seemingly much more interested in wrestling and history than chibbing cunts. He is a quietly gregarious guy, on and off stage, but I get the feeling his unorthodox upbringing has given him a steel spine and the ability not to care about any bullshit. He is a human being and a performer who impresses me more and more each time I'm in his presence.
The rest of the show is crowd pleasing and funny. Trad stand-up delivered by a seasoned professional who avoids easy hack routes. There is a risqué blast off line about buying his son a chocolate bar. A reclamation of who can use the disabled toilets that is coiled and honed. A crowd pleasing contrary take on Scottish tap water's health benefits. And a rather surprising revelation about his porn consumption. I laughed the most I had all day. Leslie is an all tools stand-up who can effortlessly put a room under his spell and give them top value.' British Comedy Guide (2025)
'An intimate feel-good show, Ross Leslie comes across as a quietly funny, likeable guy... everyone left with wide smiles on their faces.' One4Review (2025)
'Ross Leslie cuts an avuncular figure on stage, with a relaxed, confident delivery and a set full of original material, to create a warm hour...' Real Chrisparkle (2025)
'Ross Leslie, though, is one of those rule proving exceptions. A bossman who can do the do. His comedy is biographical and original, unpredictable and vividly fresh. Leslie's talent is that he glides through his personal musings with a naturally tight finesse. He has an obvious compulsion to land every sentence with a laugh, often a big belly laugh. Early doors he ignites us with a blast off line about his ability to unlock phones. A credentials establisher that is a step more special than it needs to be. A hack conceit would have done, his instincts are sharper than merely getting away with it.' Edinburgh Laughter Bulletin (2024)
'Ross Leslie is a nimble compere, who kept the night on track with a gentle authority and, when he shifted into material, he got big around the room responses'. British Comedy Guide (2024)
'Leslie notably commands the room with easy-going charm. Leslie finishes the show and finishes it well, he has the wonderful ability to poke fun at almost everything without being mean...' Student Newspaper (2021)
'This is a solid set of conventional standup from the well-regarded club comic. There's no real theme but family crops up & there's an incident with some keyboard warriors. Audience interaction works well too'. Fringe Monkey (2021)
