2025 FRINGE RECOMMENDATIONS
Below is a non exhaustive list of our favourites performing at this year's Fringe.  We have tried to focus on those performers who have no agents, producers, financial backing or beneficiaries of funding etc.  Also those we have seen develop well at our regular shows.

All of them are, as we say "Good Eggs".  And by that we mean funny, creative and lovely to the teams at our venues.

Therefore, if not listed here, are they dicks?! 🤣

Every day we will be doing our Bring Yer Bairn shows at Appleton Tower with our friends at Gilded Balloon.  To buy tickets, visit here

Here is our list of pals.  In time order.

George Fox - Sugar Daddy - Monkey Barrel - 12.05pm (5 shows only)
His show title got us a citation from Mark Zuckerberg this year!  Despite that, George, is one of the most naturally funny people in our circuit, and this short run will be magic!

Kathleen Hughes - Twig - Waverley Bar - 12.15pm (1st half only)
Annoyingly talented at such an early stage in her career.  We love Kathleen, she always has a belter when she performs with us.

Dan Boerman - 0% Beer Loves Me. Women Fear Me. Sheep Were Unavailable For Comment - Beehive - 2pm
Annoying long show title, but the show we are sure will be class.  Another great addition to the Scottish scene.  Get yourself along!

Richard Brown - Nauseatingly Woke Full-Grown Jellyfish - The Stand - 2.05pm (3 shows only)
A very apt show title.  He is woke as shit, but in a very exciting way.  Taking it to the man with some great killer lines.

Daniel Downie - Is Scottish? - Beehive - 2.45pm
Edinburgh's second best tour guide (behind this writer lol) and a powerhouse of an act.  His intelligence shines through in his shows about Scottish history.

Amanda Dwyer - I Did Something Bad - The Stand - 3pm (first half only)
We seen this show twice at our venue at Glasgow Comedy Festival and it was the best show we seen the whole month.  This is going to move people in many different ways.  Amanda is fantastic.

Bee Babylon - Eyjafjallajökull – There and Back Again - The Stand - 3pm (2nd half only)
No idea what she is saying half the time, but people seem to enjoy it!  In all seriousness, she is great and we have seen previews of this mad story.  It is classic Babylons!

Ralph Brown - Dead Inside - The Stand - 4.20pm
A shambles of a man, but so funny.  This years show is pure Ralph, he is tripping over his dick all the time, but you will love watching him do his thing.

Hannah Campbell - Me! - Gilded Balloon - 4.20pm
We love Hannah.  A bundle of energy on stage, with some brutal lines outta nowhere.  Looking forward to her show this year in a big venue!

Chris Thorburn - I Need This - The Stand - 4.45pm (5 shows only)
The nicest man in the world is also slim AND funny.  Which shows how nice he is, that he gets away with being a triple threat.  He is doing some new jokes this year and we love every single one of them.

Michael Welch All Rizz Nae Filter - Gilded Balloon - 5pm
Always willing to push boundaries, for good or bad, he is now on his 3rd brand new show in as many years.  We are big champions of Michael, and we think this is gonna be another succesful Fringe for our boy.

Hannah Morton - Cha Cha Real Smooth - Gilded Balloon - 5pm
A natural born performer, who we were privileged to give her first spot at a comedy show 4 months ago.  This show is excellent, and unique, and Hannah is gonna be a big star, very soon!

Ross Leslie - Now Is The Time - West Port Oracle - 5pm
We are a bit biased, but we love this guy.  Go see the show.  His last preview the other night, ran over by 20 mins, so he needs to cut some shit!

Dean Coughlin - Oblivious Sausage - Legends - 5.50pm (2nd half only)
So happy that Dean now lives here.  A Scouse lad, but not one of those!  Incredible stage presence, brilliant jokes, the full package.

Erin McKinnie - Deep Heat - Apex - 6.30pm
When she is not travelling the globe and making this writer jealous of her travels, she is making audiences world wide laugh.  So funny, so talented.

James Gardner - Jockney Rebel - Le Monde - 6.45pm
James is a legend.  A bona fide gentleman who has carved his own path in comedy, first online, but he can back it up live too.  Always thoughtful shows with great jokes.

Vladimir McTavish - Last Chance Saloon - The Stand - 7pm
Scottish Comedy's iconic Vlad!  Always a delight to watch.  This year his show is using the screen to skewer the crazy people in charge.  We love it.

Kate Hammer - Goverment Approved Comedian - Monkey Barrel - 7.15pm (2 shows only)
Does she terrify us sometimes?  Yes.  But do we secretly love it?  Also, yes.  Kate is fucking good.  And we love that she is signed to this country for a while yet!

Paul McDaniel - Harder Better Faster Pauler - The Stand - 7.25pm (2 shows only)
Nobody does comedy like Paul, and thank god, because it is impossible to follow when McDaniel is firing on all cylinders.  Such incredible writing and we can't wait to see the full hour!

Shannon Brooke - A Horseless Rodeo - Three Sisters - 7.30pm
Via Berlin, from Australia, Shannon is very good.  We are happy she is here.  Always kills at our weekly Edinburgh shows.

Cobin Millage - A Losing Battle With Grass That Just Won't Stop Growing - Three Sisters - 8.45pm
Nobody like Cobin on our circuit.  He is mad, and he is here to stay now, which sounds like a threat, which it kinda is.  Funny lovely boy.

Chris Griffin - Too Little, Too Chris Griffin - Apex - 9.50pm (1st half only)
Our buddy, Chris, is doing his debut this year.  We have seen him loads at our shows and the material gets better and better.  Expect laughter and tears.

Ruaridh Miller - It's Pronounced Ruaridh - Apex - 9.50pm (2nd half only)
Arguably one of the best show titles this year, and a long waited debut from one of Edinburgh's best new comedians.  Ruaridh is lovely to listen to, and deceivingly funny!
